Day 1
Fly direct to Bilbao. On arrival join the private transfer to your hotel where you will spend 2 nights.

Day 2
Bilbao: Designed by Frank Gehry, the Museo Guggenheim has been hailed as the most important building of its time and is undisputedly Bilbao’s star attraction, thanks to its awesome and utterly distinctive shell of titanium, glass and limestone. Beyond the Guggenheim, your first port of call in Bilbao must surely be the Old Town, or Casco Viejo as it’s known locally, a labyrinthine maze of narrow, winding, pedestrianized streets leading off the Plaza Nueva. At its heart are the city’s original seven streets – Las Siete Calles – dating back to the 1400s and you’ll find atmosphere in abundance with plenty of quirky galleries, shops, bars and cafés where a pit-stop for pintxo (Spanish tapas) is an absolute essential.

Day 3
Make your own way to the bus station for the journey to Burgos. The coach departs Bilbao 1500 arriving in Burgos at 1645. On arrival make your own way to your hotel where you will spend 2 nights.

Day 4
Burgos: Burgos, a city in Castilla-Leon situated along the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela. The city is rich in medieval splendour. The capital of the unified kingdom of Castilla-Leon for five centuries, Burgos boasts a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture: the cathedral of Burgos. Aside from the historic quarter, you can enjoy pleasant walks along the banks of the Duero and Arlanza rivers.

Day 5
Make your own way to the railway station for the journey to León where you will spend 2 nights. Depart 1234 arrive 1438.

Day 6
León: A former Roman encampment, León became the capital of the kingdom in the Middle Ages, a historic enclave on the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela. Don’t miss the Santa María de León Cathedral, also called The House of Light or the Pulchra Leonina.

Day 7
Make your own way to the railway station for the journey to Santiago de Compostela where you will spend 2 nights.  Depart 1443 arrive 1959

Day 8
Santiago de Compostela: The Galician capital is synonymous with the Camino, an ancient pilgrimage route, born in the 9th century. To this day many thousands of pilgrims set out on foot, by bike, or even on horseback, to live this experience that combines adventure and spirituality. The final goal is the Cathedral in Santiago, one of the sacred cities of Christendom.

Christianity aside, gastronomy is an essential part of the city. There is a spectacular array of restaurants, bars and taverns, all offering high-quality food to suit all budgets.
Day 9
Make your own way to the railway station for the journey to Madrid where you will spend 2 nights.  Depart 1210 arrive 1754.

Day 10
Madrid: A cosmopolitan city that combines history, culture and 21st-century living with ease. Throw yourself into cultural enlightenment with visits to the Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia Galleries before staying up late, feasting on wine and tapas.

Day 11
Private transfer from your hotel to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
