Rome: Enclave of the holy see and a separate sovereign state since 1929, visiting the Vatican City is an experience that should make it on to every Rome itinerary. Across the Tiber discover the beautifully flamboyant baroque architecture of the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza Navona.
