Aldrovandi Villa Borghese in Rome

Aldrovandi Palace

Our opinion… This beautiful hotel (a member of The Leading Hotels of the World) offers a luxurious stay in peaceful, relaxing surroundings, providing an escape from the hectic city centre! In fact it offers a quite unique feature for guests staying in summer - an outdoor pool, located in the hotel's private gardens.

Location…The hotel is set in a prestigious residential neighbourhood of Rome, 15 minutes' walk from the Borghese Art Gallery.

Accommodation… Public areas and bedrooms have been recently renovated and reflect the high standard of the hotel. The style of the bedrooms is traditional & elegant with all modern conveniences. Each room has a bathroom with slippers and hairdryer.

Facilities… The Aldrovandi is one of The Leading Hotels of the World. It features a large garden with swimming pool and a Michelin-starred restaurant, Baby. Breakfast is buffet style.

Transport… Having the extensive gardens of the Villa Borghese on the doorstep, and also a complimentary bus service to the centre, guests can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Nearest metro station Flamino.

Hotel excellent in every respect - there is a lovely park nearby - it is a little far out of the centre but the hotel has a shuttle bus which goes into town every half an hour and the driver Daniel was extremely helpful and informative.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel excellent - it is quite a walk to the centre but the hotel runs a very good minibus service every half an hour. Hotel breakfast is very good.

The Aldrovandi palace is a superb hotel, offering 5-star service throughout. Breakfast,in particular, was fantastic. Also, the hotel's courtesy bus service into the city centre was invaluable. The only drawback is; if you intend to be in Rome at night, getting back is a problem if you don't want to take one of the city's infamous taxis. We heard some terrible tales of people being fleeced. Altogether though, a most enjoyable stay.

Good quality hotel about 10 minutes away from the City Centre (by transport). Hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable. Would have been good if the hotel had more information on how to get into Rome itself by bus/tram, as this can be confusing (in any new city) at first. The Hotel shuttle service is excellent, but can only take 8 people and is available daytime only. Local taxi's are easy to use though and reasonably priced.
Aldrovandi Hotel is a beautiful hotel, the outdoor swimming pool is lovely. Definately recommend staying at the hotel if you know your way around Rome. The hotel provides a 'bus service', which is basically a seven seater car, ensure you book this in advance and make sure the staff have understood your request. The staff are very helpful and polite.
Excellect Hotel and fantastic service and facilities

We were looked after very well and felt very pampered - the staff were a delight and spoke excellent English. Our meal in the "baby" restaurant was a gastronomic experience! If you want to "step off the planet" and enjoy some luxury then this hotel woudl be hard to beat! Nothing was too much trouble - taxis booked and told exactly where we wanted to go; restaurants booked; bus tours booked; the staff really helped us to enjoy our first visit to this very special city.

We thought the hotel was excellent, we were only there on a 3 night break and it was certainly value for money. The only fault I can give the hotel is the room service we ordered on our first night as we arrived late and were hungry. The food (pizza) was small, untasty and over priced!! The buffet breakfast however was superb!! A wide range of food to choose from. Staff were helpful and the hotel ran an hourly bus service to the Spanish steps which left you at the metro also.
