Fly direct to Vienna (or Bratislava). On arrival join the private transfer to your hotel in Vienna where you will spend 2 nights.
Vienna: With such a considerable history there is much to occupy your time in Vienna. Official residence of the Habsburg monarchy for over 600 years, the vast and majestic Hofburg complex, also known as the Imperial Palace, is one of Vienna's most recognisable and symbolic landmarks. With its soaring Gothic tower, St Stephan's Cathedral represents the heart of Vienna and should be considered a sightseeing essential. Of course you may prefer to just take things easy and just enjoy that most sacred of Viennese traditions - coffee with a slice of Sacher Torte.
Make your own way to the railway station for the short journey by rail to Bratislava. (Journey time approximately 1hr) You will have an open ticket allowing you to travel at a time convenient to your sightseeing plans.
Bratislava: The Main Square lined with beautiful, colourful Baroque and Renaissance buildings would be a good starting point for your explorations of the Slovakian capital. Set in the heart of the Old Town, Grassalkovich Palace is a delightful blend of Rococo and Baroque architectural styles. The beautiful palace gardens are laid out in a formal French fashion and double also as a public park. Perhaps most popular however is the changing of the guard ceremony which takes place in front of the palace.
